The Big Chop

I recently chopped off my hair, like i literally woke up by 2am grabbed a pair of scissors and chopped it off. My mum almost cried when she woke up in the morning and saw the damage.  I've been wanting to cut it for year but i didn't have the courage to and to be honest i was worried that people would no longer find me attractive. So anyway i chopped it off and then went to the salon the next day to have it 'neatened' up.

The initial reaction wasn't exactly positive i must confess. I got a lot of "Why did You cut your hair, what's the matter!!!", "it makes you look 'somehow' " and the worst "are you sure u'll find a husband this". laaal. Nigerians have no chill whatsoever!
Anyway it appears with the hair came a new attitude because for some reason i really couldn't be bothered about other peoples opinions. I love my new hair, i think it reflects my personality and other than the fact that people tend to stare a bit more than usual i really havnt noticed any differences in the way people treat me.

It's so funny 3weeks on, people now walk up to me to say they love my haircut and want to know where i had it done.

I'm not Sure how long this phase will last but i'm loving so far. Only downside is i think it makes me look even younger, what do you think guys am i just being paranoid?

Sunday Funday: At the National Army Museum.

Since we couldn't make it last Sunday, we decided  to go see the National Army Museum yesterday. It was absolutely freezing yesterday! The sun earlier in the day tricked me into thinking it would be another warm Sunday, so I decided to  throw on an outfit that was you know, not winter appropriate, got outside BOOOM! Antarctica. i couldn't even feel my fingers by the time i had walked to the station. Anyway we went to see the war horse exhibition. Quite interesting, definitely want to see the movie now as I wasn't interested in it, at the time it was showing in the cinemas.

I'm loving this new Sunday tradition I've started of going somewhere different and new.

they had crayons and cutouts of horses for kids to colour in and stick on the wall. Being a big kid I joined in. marlene was so not amused. lol

Shopping tip for short skirts; Try sitting with it on in the dressing room. This skirt made so much sense in the dressing room, but when I sit down in it goes up, way up and I can't tug it down easily because it isn't lycra or jersey. Another thing,  I'm strolling down the road, I look down and the side seam has moved to the front. Le worst.

No liquid or powder foundation just moisturiser, haven't worn any since september and my skin is rewarding me for it.

Hair Affair

Just got back from the salon. Showing off my flowing locks. LOL Im quite proud of myself, I've decided to lay off the weaves for a while. Big things have been happening for me. Left my old job. Started off a new brand  women's wear, 'Chechi Arinze' , featured on Moments by Mo, etc. Anyway this is me off to the Pan African University for a social sector  dialogue.

Got my hair done on Saturday, I.HATE.IT. it's probably just new hair syndrome though, we'll see. i wanted to be super casual for the salon, but I decided to accessorize a bit which was a good thing because some people were actually wearing heels in Salon. o_O Perhaps they were going to a wedding after getting their hair done?

Hair Affair

Hi guys! so i've been thinking of changing my hairstyle to something a bit more african and natural. I though of growing a fro, but since i'm more of a rocker/gothic chic i'm sure i'd get tired of it.

Anyway i did these really cool braids last year that eveyone seemed to like and i came across a picture of solange knowles with a similar hairstyle, only hers is waaaay longer than mine was. I'm thinking i could totally rock this look, it's urban african, it's versatile and most of all it's really long :). so.......... Yay? or Nay?
