Got the blues

I was going for a meeting and the sun was blazing so , so I decided to wear white hoping the white cotton would keep me cool. No such luck! As you can see I'm still going strong with my 'natural' hair. Pictures were taken by mum, who kept saying 'you're getting fat' #FashionPolice LOL

EZNIRAS CLOTHES SWAP AND EXHIBITION FAIR

EZNIRAS CLOTHES SWAP IS BACK!!!
Bigger and Better Edition.

Getting tired of your own clothes? Ever wondered what it would be like to raid someone else’s fab wardrobe? Well here’s your chance

This year, Eznira clothes swap is not only increasing the number of the charities in the portfolio, but we are also adding a fashion exhibition fair, where designers, business owners and retailers of various products can exhibit and market thier products so all swappers and guests could swap their clothes and shop as well.

How it works:
1) Each person drops off a minimum of 5 items from their wardrobes at our drop off spot.
2) You get to swap as many items as you bring, so if you bring 10 you swap for 10
3) For this edition swapping is just for girls.
4)You will definitely find clothes that fit you because I already have people from size 6 to size18 who will be swapping
5) Items are 'interswapable', so the fact that you brought only bags doesn't mean you can't swap them for tops.
6) Please ensure that the clothes or items you bring are in very good condition I.e have only been worn once or twice or still have tags on them.
7) If you can't get your things to us before the swap date, we will still accept them on that day. But you would have to come early
8) On the day of the Swap clothes will Hung up and arranged just like a boutique.

* we reserve the right to reject clothes which are torn, faded, dirty or generally in bad condition.

Venue:- The White Space, 58 raymond Njoku street Off awolowo rd. Ikoyi.

Pins and Needles

I'm back! For the past couple of weeks I've been having a love affair with men's v-neck tees. They just seem to go with everything. Stole this one in the post from my brother eons ago but I never wear it as it just doesn't 'gauge'. So yesterday armed with a pair of scissors and pins I decided to reconstruct it. Hope you all like the end result as much as I do!

DIY : Black ruffle Bib Necklace

. I dont know if you guys know what has been going on in Nigeria, but we've had a nation wide strike since Monday protesting the removal of Fuel subsidy(i.e fuel prices have practically doubled). I've been going crazy with boredom as i havnt been allowed to join the protests.
Decided to do my 1st DIY project of the year and it turned out FAB! I can't wait to rock it with a pristine white shirt

the pleated chiffon ruffle i used was gotten from the collar of my mum's old shirt but you can find similar materials at your local haberdashery
once you've attached the ruffle to the ribbon you can procede to sew or glue on stones, bows and buttons  with reckless abandon :D
Check it out!!!!!

Something Old.

This is one of the first dresses i ever 'designed' that my surulere tailor got right. I've had it for two years and it's still one of my favorites. Maybe it's the fit or maybe it's the fact that i made it out of one of my mum's old ankara headties (benefits of being skinny). i'm really not sure what it is, all i know is it's the one dress that never fails me when i have 'nothing to wear'

no i'm not angry it's just the sun in my eyes.

i love the low back! it's all kinds of sexy

The Eznira Clothes Swap and Vintage Fair

Getting tired of your own clothes? Ever wondered what it would be like to raid someone else’s fab wardrobe? Well here’s your chance

I'll be having a Swap Shindig on the 12th of June.
In addition to this seeing as vintage is all the rage, there'l also be a vintage stand where my swappers can purchase all things vintage! I'm really excited as i've been thinking of having one of these for ages but people kept discouraging me by saying it wouldn't work here in Nigeria. aaaaanyway!

This is how it works, each person drops off a minimum of 5 items from their wardrobes with one of our reps before or on the swap date.( Feel free to bring your parents fabulous clothes from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s to swap too).
Swapping is FREE, and there will be seamstresses at the fair to assist if clothes need altering. (this service is not free)
If you have not donated items you will not be eligible to swap but you can still buy stuff from our vintage stand.

So alot of people have asked me questions about the Swap,  i'm just going to clear up a few things
1: you get to swap as many items as you bring, so if you bring 10 you swap for 10
2: for this edition swapping is just for girls.
3:Yes you will find clothes that fit you because i already have people from size 6 to size16 who will be swapping
4: Items are 'interswapable', so the fact that you bring bags doesn't mean you can't swap them for tops.
5: I cant sress this enough please ensure that the clothes you bring are not worn out or dirty. Letme put it this way, don't bring what you can't collect.
6: If you can't get your things to us before the swap date, we will still accept them on that day.

If you have anymore questions, Please leave a comment here or email me. thanx guys!

I'm Back

Hey guys so sorry i've been MIA for this long, some unknown person (i have my suspicions) dropped my laptop on the 1st day of Arise Fashion Week and it took a while to get it fixed.
So much has happened since i was here last, i worked as an intern/assistant during the fashion week which was totally fun, i got to meet soo many cool people and some not so cool people(bt we'l leave that one for another day). Had a realy FAB idea for a post about AMFW but it's been so long it's kinda out of context now so i'll just put up a couple of pictures of things/people that caught my eye during the fashion week.

Day 1

some of the interns i worked with, tosin, moi, choima n ala

                                                            Day 2
Forgot my camera at home today, felt like killing myself because JBL and Ituen Basi showcased their designs but i couldn't get any pictures! :(

Day 3

The sun was hot, hence the frown

yea i ddn't really get the idea behind the socks and mandals combo either

the guy on the left was one of the models, he had no less than 4 facial peircings! had to take his picture

Met this girl there, LOVE her skirt and her neck piece. i tink her name is tolu not really sure. Aaaanyway she has a fashion website with her friend (kike i think) and for some reason i can't seem to remember the name. so if you happen to know what it's called please write the link in my comments thanks!

closer look at her necklace, bEAUtiful!

this is Dolapo, she's into fashion P.R.....i think. anyway she was really cool and friendly don't you just love her necklace?

Day 4

This is busayo, love what she did to her hair with the ankara head wrap

                                                    This is Nina!

This is thelma one of my 'co-interns' she's too cute!

one thing i love about working in fashion you can wear almost anything and nobody even bats an eyelid e.g my white high waisted shorts.

Was bored and decided to drag my friends zainab and itunu down to mine for an impromptu amature fashion shoot in some of my creations. Here are a couple of pictures

Been busy busy working on lots of different stuff, more later!
made this for one of my youngest clients, she's 16 and a bit of a tomboy and she's trying to mix her style up a little.
i'm guessing she could wear the top with jeans and then the skirt with a black top.

Made by Me

Hi guys, i'm in a bit of a hurry as i'm working on a little project for 'the mentor' but these are a couple of pictures of one of the draped skirts i made, more pictures of the others later.

I wore it on saturday, pictures courtsey Issey.

This is my favorite picture because it's timeless, it looks like it could have even been taken in the 70's

Love the touch of rock the black shoe boots and the lace top gives the look.

This is the back i was feeling very  'Calatrava-ish' with myself.

Lace Top- Internacionale
Silk Draped skirt- Eznira
Bag- Aldo
Shoes- Atmosphere
White Gold Ring- Mamma Eznira
Decided to keep my hair natural for now, seeing as i actually have a whole lot of it!!!!

P.S Arise Fashion Week begins on thursday!!! I'm sooo excited. Been thinking it won't be a bad idea to work as an intern behind the scenes.....will let you guys know how that goes. Share
