The Eznira Clothes Swap and Vintage Fair

Getting tired of your own clothes? Ever wondered what it would be like to raid someone else’s fab wardrobe? Well here’s your chance

I'll be having a Swap Shindig on the 12th of June.
In addition to this seeing as vintage is all the rage, there'l also be a vintage stand where my swappers can purchase all things vintage! I'm really excited as i've been thinking of having one of these for ages but people kept discouraging me by saying it wouldn't work here in Nigeria. aaaaanyway!

This is how it works, each person drops off a minimum of 5 items from their wardrobes with one of our reps before or on the swap date.( Feel free to bring your parents fabulous clothes from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s to swap too).
Swapping is FREE, and there will be seamstresses at the fair to assist if clothes need altering. (this service is not free)
If you have not donated items you will not be eligible to swap but you can still buy stuff from our vintage stand.

So alot of people have asked me questions about the Swap,  i'm just going to clear up a few things
1: you get to swap as many items as you bring, so if you bring 10 you swap for 10
2: for this edition swapping is just for girls.
3:Yes you will find clothes that fit you because i already have people from size 6 to size16 who will be swapping
4: Items are 'interswapable', so the fact that you bring bags doesn't mean you can't swap them for tops.
5: I cant sress this enough please ensure that the clothes you bring are not worn out or dirty. Letme put it this way, don't bring what you can't collect.
6: If you can't get your things to us before the swap date, we will still accept them on that day.

If you have anymore questions, Please leave a comment here or email me. thanx guys!

My A-Z of Trends Part 1

So my wardrobe has been looking a tad bleh-ish lately, haven't been feeling as  inspired as usual and i'm getting really tired of wearing Black all the time, Like seriously my closet has gotten so dark cuz of all the black clothes i own. So i've decided to start this thing where i go shopping for something different once a week. This is a list of trends i'm feeling right now to keep me on track and away from 'the black'.

Ankara & Adire

adire is one of my favorite fabrics/patterns. especially the ones that have this water color effect!

Boho
the key with this look is to think free spirited chic not homeless lady. love her houlihans!

Crochet
for some reason a lot of people seem to be mixing this up with the lace trend......

Denim
i love bleached denim, dark blue denim, distressed denim.......i love denim! whenever i get new jeans i always distress my old one. it's pretty easy i usually just use a pen knife, a fine tooth comb and some hardware tools(don't ask) you have to wash them like twice before wearing tho, so they don't have that 'tailor lo run' look.

Epauletts
There's something about epaulettes that gives me a boost whenever i wear them. i feel a like boss!

Floral i love this DVF dress, probably because the background is black! :D

Grecian
so i have always been afraid of rocking this trend because i assumed one had to be endowed in the bosom region to pull it off, but all these hollywood skinnies have given me inspiration. it's kind of hard to work this trend into your street style, but i'm thinking metallic jewelry, a jersey draped dress and some roman plaits should do the trick! now where am i going to find a jersey daped dress?!

Head bands, hats and turbans
i think the turbans speak for themselves

Indie
one of my favorite trends! i have to be careful not to cross over into emo territory tho...

Jelly
never really been a fan of these because they look like toys but ever since the marc jacobs jelly revival i've been sold!

Khaki
seeing as i live in the tropics this trend is bang on! i love it because there are sooo many interpretations to it and you can dress it up or down.

Lace
i loooove lace! Any type of lace but i'm always scared of exposing too much flesh. Austrain lace is pretty big in Nigeria now so you can experiment with that too.

Midriff
err this trend is tricky, if you do not have ciara-esq abs pls steer clear! a good way for bigger girls to rock this look is to pair them with highwaisted pants or skirts. next on my shopping list is a fulani cropped top!

Made by Me

Hi guys, i'm in a bit of a hurry as i'm working on a little project for 'the mentor' but these are a couple of pictures of one of the draped skirts i made, more pictures of the others later.

I wore it on saturday, pictures courtsey Issey.

This is my favorite picture because it's timeless, it looks like it could have even been taken in the 70's

Love the touch of rock the black shoe boots and the lace top gives the look.

This is the back i was feeling very  'Calatrava-ish' with myself.

Lace Top- Internacionale
Silk Draped skirt- Eznira
Bag- Aldo
Shoes- Atmosphere
White Gold Ring- Mamma Eznira
Decided to keep my hair natural for now, seeing as i actually have a whole lot of it!!!!

P.S Arise Fashion Week begins on thursday!!! I'm sooo excited. Been thinking it won't be a bad idea to work as an intern behind the scenes.....will let you guys know how that goes. Share
